ROG Xbox Ally price leak hints at cheaper launch than expected

Ana sayfa / News

Microsoft hasn’t confirmed it, but retailers may have jumped the gun. A fresh leak from UK store Argos suggests the ROG Xbox Ally could hit shelves at £499.99, possibly undercutting earlier estimates. The source? Promotional materials were accidentally shared ahead of schedule.

The leak shows off marketing flyers listing the base ROG Xbox Ally model at a surprisingly reasonable £499.99. That lines up with earlier clues from Best Buy and matches a €599 price spotted at a Spanish store back in July. For reference, that’s around £523 with currency conversion, but Argos could be trimming the UK price slightly to stay competitive.

No mention yet of the beefier ROG Xbox Ally X, though. A speculative price of £799 has been thrown around, but nothing concrete has surfaced.

Sharge Disk Pro brings active cooling, 10 Gbps speed, and hub functionality in a see-through SSD starting at $139 on Kickstarter.

Retail listings elsewhere have echoed similar numbers:

Those differences often reflect regional tax structures. European pricing includes VAT, while U.S. figures exclude local sales tax so don’t expect direct conversions to match up. Still, the general pricing range falls at the lower end of most predictions, especially for a Windows 11 handheld.

Microsoft hasn’t offered any official numbers yet, and it’s starting to show. With the ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X slated to release on October 16, a proper reveal can’t be far off. The Tokyo Game Show and a scheduled press event on September 25 might finally clear the air.

In the meantime, the £499.99 figure gives hopeful buyers something to hang onto—and might signal that this handheld won’t break the bank after all.
